With The Right Teacher,
Math, Science & Engineering Can Be
Empowering And Fun
For Any Child

Engage Your Child in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)!

Research shows that skills and confidence in these areas unlock huge opportunities in life, including many more job opportunities, lifelong higher income levels. When your child loves tinkering, running experiments, innovating and solving problems, they become capable of thinking things through, taking on big challenges and succeeding in solving big problems.

Hi, I'm Kendra

I'm a STEM educator dedicated to helping kids find joy in math, science & engineering and giving kids the skills, mindset and confidence to achieve great things. Homeschooled until college, with Master's degrees from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (plus Biology just for fun!), over 20+ years of experience as an engineer and research scientist and a daughter of my own, I've honed my skills in turning STEM learning into an exciting adventure and making it fun and easy to understand. I've loved science and math since I was old enough to take apart the toaster and I'm deeply passionate about empowering kids to think scientifically, make incredible inventions and solve real problems.

i Can Teach Your Kids The STEM Skills They Need -- And make it so fun They'll Want More

Learn By Doing with Hands on Projects

Memorizing formulas and passing tests doesn't build useful skills. Exploring, building and solving real problems does. I use low-floor high-ceiling projects that engage kids with a wide range of skill levels in cooperative goals. I bring scientific concepts to life with vivid demos and lots of room for their creativity.

Evidence-Based Social Learning Techniques

Research says kids learn best in groups. I'm trained in teaching techniques from Stanford that have been shown in 6 week summer camps to result in kids advancing 2.5 years in academic skills. I focus on inspiring big concepts, not reductive busy work.

Improve Math & STEM Confidence

Too often bad teachers make kids believe they aren't good at math and science, which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Good teaching cultivates a growth mindset full of curiosity & experimentation and builds a track record of capability and confidence that empowers kids for life.

Private Tutoring

Get one-on-one attention for any kid who's behind, anxious about math or science, or is struggling with the subject. Private tutoring is very personalized to the needs of each student and greatly increase motivation and accountability. Flexible scheduling.

Small STEM Pods

Join a cohort of students in a weekly STEM pod with a semester-long curriculum. Weekly instruction on math, science and engineering topics with live experiments and engaging hands-on challenges. Includes take home projects, parent conferences and two field trips per semester. All materials included.

STEM Camps

Come to a day long or multi-day STEM camp for fantastic hands-on projects chock full of things to make and learn. Camp topics range from chemistry (mixing slime, making rockets & explosions) to electronics (making interactive stuffed animals, paper circuits & robots) and much, much more!

what Parents Are saying:

ā€

"Kendra taught my 12 year old the fundamental concepts of trigonometry, geometry and calculus with lots of simple, really fun examples and she loved every second of it. I never thought Iā€™d say this, but my daughter *loves* math! I have no doubt she'll be well prepared for whatever higher math education she wants to pursue."

Anna S.

Parent of 9 and 12 year old daughters

ā€

"Really great projects. She makes me want to come to STEM camp too! She has such good examples, like fractions are made of root beer floats and physics is demonstrated by wooly mammoths. She makes everything so easy to understand and then I realize 'Wow, I never really understood that until now'. "

Parent of 8 year old son
